AsiaSoft Paints MDAS House
Singapore – 25th April 2009 – Asiasoft Online Pte Ltd (Asiasoft), the leading publisher of Massively-Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs) in Southeast Asia, announced the completion of its Corporate Social Responsible (CSR) project – Painting of Muscular Dystrophy Association of Singapore (MDAS) house. The house was painted by twenty-five staff volunteers within a day.
Asiasoft, a social responsible company stays committed in giving back to the society. The MDAS house is a place for their members to gather, interact and socialize and it needs a fresh coat of paint.
The partnership with MDAS began in 2008 under the ComCare Connection, a community-giving initiative by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) that matches corporations with non-profit organizations to bring more sustainable benefits to the community. Since then, Asiasoft has provided MDAS’ beneficiaries with training and internship opportunities, from webpage designer roles to game moderator positions from home or within the Centre. In the late 2008, Asiasoft banded with its game developers from Korea and Japan to support and contribute to the beneficiaries within our community. As part of its first fundraising activity for the MDAS, Asiasoft’s first adopted charity, the company worked closely with game developers CyberStep, KOG Studios, Nexon Corporation, Yedang Online Corporation and T3 Entertainment, to develop special MDAS in-game items for players to purchase in support of the association. The total amount collected was S$18,862.16.
