Loads of Fun and Entertainment at First-Ever Online Gaming, Asiasoft GameFest

6th August 2008, Singapore – Over 10,000 members of public and online gaming community congregated at first-ever AsiaSoft GameFest to celebrate in an epic manner, enjoying and competing in all the games published by the company at Marina Square, Central Atrium from 1st to 3rd August 2008. AsiaSoft, the leading publisher of Massively-Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs) in Southeast Asia held the enormous gaming event to reward all with exciting on-site activities for a record amount of S$100,000 in cash and prizes for the first time.

The three-day mega gaming event commenced with a big bang as fireworks and pyrotechnics wowed the audience when Mr Sherman Tan, Chairman of AsiaSoft activated the launch mechanism on the first day. The event ground was brought to life with vibrant Richman Online cosplay characters making special appearance in front of the crowd to mark its official launch of the game. Fortune cookies with special embedded number strip, bestowed by the “Fortune God” were thrown to lucky winners to win a total of S$800 cash prizes.

“With our belief to give thanks to the strong support of our gaming community, we are proud to host the first-ever celebration, AsiaSoft GameFest with a reward of S$100,000 worth of cash and prizes over the three days. The hosting of GetAmped World Festival 2008, an international gaming competition and various Cabal Online, AuditionSEA and MapleStory tournaments, together with the launch of Richman Online game in AsiaSoft GameFest are the results of the great support of our community,” said Mr Sherman Tan, Chairman of AsiaSoft. “We will continue to bring more fun and entertaining game titles, coupled with outdoor events to build closer bonding with the community.”

The GetAmped World Festival 2008, the first online gaming tournament of its kind hosted in Singapore, saw international contestants from 11 different countries fighting in a long grueling battle to achieve the final championship at the AsiaSoft GameFest. Korean and Japanese players emerged winners for the team and individual matches respectively, and all S$70,000 cash and exclusive premium prizes were awarded to the participants.

Other activities within the AsiaSoft GameFest included the search for grand champions in the final rounds of the ongoing AsiaSoft game competitions in Singapore, namely the “Audition Clubber of the Year”, the Cabal “Rise of the Champions” Individual Player vs Player (PvP) Battle and the “MapleStory Monster Carnival Showdown”. Preliminary rounds for these competitions were conducted in July, and the final players battled it out at the event to win their respective game championships, along with attractive cash prizes and exclusive premiums.
