Third Annual Asiasoft Games Festival was a Roaring Success in Malaysia

As the biggest exhibitor at Game Hub 2010 in City Square, Johor Bahru, the gaming festival alone attracted over 3,000 visitors to its booth, with continued festivities in Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Sabah over two weekends in June.

22 June 2010, Malaysia – The Asiasoft Games Festival 2010 (“ASGF 2010”) went off to a rolling start with a three-day fiesta in Johor Bahru starting 4 June 2010. The annual gaming event, organized by AS Online Sdn Bhd (“Asiasoft”), ventured to four major states in Malaysia this year, to cater to its mass audiences of gamers in each region of the country!

Eager gamers were already seen queuing at the registration booth before the festival officially opened in Johor Bahru on the first day, many waiting to lay their hands on limited edition early bird goodie bags and free, exclusive in-game items from popular Asiasoft game titles such as MapleSEA (http://www.MapleSEA.com) and AuditionSEA (http://www.AuditionSEA.com).

Over 600 visitors registered for an Asiasoft game account while many others participated in the on-site game tournaments for other hot games such as Warrior of the 3 Kingdoms (http://www.W3KSEA.com), CABAL Online (http://www.CabalSEA.com) and Sudden Attack (http://www.SuddenAttackSEA.com), the latter drawing the most competitors. For the Sudden Attack tournament, State Champions for Johor Bahru and Penang were crowned on 6 June 2010, while two additional State Champions emerged from Kuala Lumpur and Sabah when the tournament travelled to the respective states on 19 and 20 June.

All four State Champions from Malaysia and the Champion team from Singapore will battle it out for the grand prize of up to RM50,000 in cash and prizes at the finals of the Sudden Attack Malaysian Regional Tournament, to be held at the upcoming World Cyber Games 2010 Malaysia.

Another major highlight of ASGF 2010 was the simultaneous launch MapleSEA Evan Dragon Master Class launch and MapleSEA 5th Anniversary Celebrations in both Malaysia and Singapore on 5 June 2010. Players from both countries ushered in the occasion with birthday hats, limited goodie bags giveaways and never before seen game premiums. Maplers of all ages enjoyed a plethora of festivities including stage games, game demonstrations and many other gaming activities during the event.

ASGF 2010 also marked the official launch of Monster Forest (http://www.MonsterForestSEA.com), the latest online pet and farming MMORPG published by Asiasoft. The launch party on 6 June 2010 saw Monster Forest’s celebrity game master Kanny Theng, and mascot Angel Bear, making special appearances all the way from Singapore!

Much to the excitement of her fans, Kanny posed for several photographs with fellow gamers and passing shoppers and many lucky fans received autographed posters from the star herself, while others walked away with limited edition Monster Forest plushie keychains. Not to be outdone, avid fans of CABAL Online also had their fair share of excitement as special in-game items were put up for auction during the event.

Sales at ASGF 2010 were also overwhelming as gamers queued up eagerly to purchase limited edition @Cash Pre-Paid Cards (“PPC”) to redeem for exclusive items such as MapleSEA plushies and highly coveted in-game items from other popular Asiasoft game titles including Sudden Attack, Warriors of the 3 Kingdoms and CABAL Online. The daily lucky draws that closed each event day also drew in much attention from both gamers and visitors alike as they waited with bated breath to walk away with attractive prizes.

ASGF 2010 officially drew to a close on 20 June 2010 in Kuala Lumpur and Sabah, after two tantalizing weekends of fun and games for Malaysian players.
